My service to the OSU OTD program is marked by my term as the president of the Student Occupational Therapy Association. It was the desire to support my peers and faculty whom I had come to love that pushed me to run for the position. I had a vision that this organization could continue to meet the needs of the Division and aid in fostering a culture of camaraderie and professionalism. This role, like many leadership roles I've assumed during my undergraduate career, has allowed me to demonstrate my affinity for organization, policy development, administration, and teamwork. During my term, we have revitalized and jumpstarted various programs and initiatives related to professionalism and advocacy; developed more sustainable fundraising methods; strengthened relationships with community partners, faculty, current students, and alumni; enhanced collaboration with other student organizations; reorganized our finances and developed a comprehensive budget; promoted more service and community outreach; enhanced our social media presence and brand identity; and continued to meet the needs of peers, faculty, and the Division as a whole.
I rewrote much of the SOTA constitution and bylaws to better reflect current policy and procedures. These changes were presented to the general student body for review and approval.
The Ohio State SOTA Handbook was developed to outline current policies and procedures related to finances, committees, apparel pricing, and budgeting. It was designed with the intention to support future administrations.
My skills and passion for graphic design prompted the development of this graphic standards manual for our organization as a way to unify our brand identity across all correspondence and platforms, including our social media.
